Learn more about the upcoming Towson Reservoir Project is this week’s edition of the Towson Times.

Our community is working with the Baltimore Department of Public Works, our neighboring communities and the project’s prospective contractors  to ensure together we minimize disruption and traffic congestion during the three-year construction process.

Fellowship Forest worried about construction impact

FFCADecember09Newsletter

This is the first time we are providing an electronic version. However, each resident will continue to receive a hand-delivered paper copy.

Electronic versions will allow us to include more stories and information in the future. We hope that you enjoy this addition to our website and will continue to visit frequently. Through this format, you will also be able to submit comments and responses to what you’ve read.

We are also including October’s newsletter on the website. It will be backdated as an October post. Please browse through our newsletter category on the right-hand of the screen if you’re interested in rereading October’s issue.

Now that we’re up and running with our electronic version, each future version will be promptly posted to accompany its paper version.

Happy Holidays!

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels in Towson is in desperate need of volunteers to deliver meals. They will soon be losing fifteen volunteers who are leaving to spend winter in warmer weather (snowbirds), and that leaves a huge void in their operation. Could you send an email message out to elicit help?  I do not know if this is the proper venue to do so, but I thought I would ask.

Their office is located off Joppa Rd between Loch Raven Blvd and Perring Pkwy.  Folks can volunteer one day a week, one day a month, whatever their schedule will allow. Some people volunteer all year round, some only in summer, and some only in winter.  You work in teams, which consist of a driver and a visitor, the visitor being the one who actually walks the meal up to the home. The time commitment is about 1½ hours in the morning.

The contact at the Towson location is Phillip Douglas 410-668-1464.  He can be reached from about 9:30a.m. to 1:00p.m. weekdays.  Anyone who has spare time on his or her hands should consider volunteering for this great organization.

Friends of Towson Library is accepting donations of adult and children’s books, DVDs, CDs and videos through mid March 2010 for their 16th Annual Book Sale.

Please no condensed  books, magazines or encyclopedias. The Book Sale will be held April 15-18, 2010. Donations may be dropped off at the Towson Library circulation desk. A receipt is available upon request. If any questions, please call the library at 410-887-6166.

Our community has the distinguished privilege of being the home to many past and present veterans who have provided and continue to provide a great service to our country.

To correspond with the upcoming newsletter, please refer to the link below for further details regarding the medals and ribbons earned by those who live in Fellowship Forest. We thank you for your service and commitment.
